Rodeo de Santa Fe has been a beloved tradition in the Southwest since 1949. Founded by a small group of local visionaries including Roy Butler and Austin “Slim” Green, what began as a passionate dream has grown into one of the top 60 PRCA professional rodeos in the nation. Held each June at the Santa Fe County Fairgrounds, the event brings big-time rodeo action with a distinct small-town feel — drawing nearly 500 world-class cowboys and cowgirls competing in traditional events alongside family-friendly attractions like Mutton Bustin’, youth barrel racing, vendors, and concessions.Known for its welcoming community atmosphere and high-caliber competition, the Rodeo de Santa Fe delivers four days of thrilling rodeo action, specialty acts, and Western hospitality. It continues to honor its deep roots while welcoming new generations of fans and participants. The rodeo also hosts an Exceptional Rodeo for children and adults with physical and mental exceptionalities, giving everyone a chance to experience the cowboy way of life
